1.1 Information You Provide Directly

Account & Store Information

When you connect your Shopify store to StockGuard, we collect:

  • Shopify store URL (your-store.myshopify.com)

  • Store name and basic store information

  • OAuth 2.0 access tokens to communicate with Shopify on your behalf

Settings & Preferences

  • Alert threshold settings (global and per-product)

  • Notification preferences (push, sound, badge)

  • Snooze settings for specific products

Contact Information

When you subscribe to our newsletter or contact support:

  • Email address

  • Name (if provided)

  • Any information you include in your communications

1.2 Information Collected Through Shopify Integration

When you authorize StockGuard to access your Shopify store, we collect:

  • Inventory Data: Product names, variant names, SKUs, stock quantities, inventory levels

  • Product Information: Product images (thumbnails), vendor information

  • Location Data: Warehouse/location information for inventory tracking (if applicable)

Important: We only access inventory-related data necessary to provide our alerting service. We do not access customer personal data, payment information, or order details beyond what's needed for inventory tracking.

1.3 Information Collected Automatically

Mobile App

  • Device type and operating system version

  • Device identifiers for push notification delivery

  • App usage data (features used, screens viewed)

  • Crash reports and performance data

  • Timestamps of inventory checks and alerts

Website

  • IP address

  • Browser type and version

  • Device information

  • Pages visited and time spent

  • Referring website/source

  • Date and time of visit

1.4 Push Notification Data

To deliver timely alerts, we collect and store:

  • Device tokens (provided by Apple Push Notification service)

  • Notification delivery status

  • User interaction with notifications

To manage your subscription, we use RevenueCat which collects:

  • Anonymous device identifier

  • App Store purchase receipts

3.1 Data Storage

  • Shopify Access Tokens: Encrypted at rest using industry-standard encryption (AES-256)

  • Inventory Data: Stored temporarily for monitoring purposes and refreshed regularly

  • Historical Data: 30-day inventory history retained for trend analysis

  • Device Tokens: Stored securely for push notification delivery

3.2 Security Measures

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures:

  • SSL/TLS encryption for all data transmission

  • Encrypted storage of sensitive credentials

  • Regular security audits and updates

  • Access controls and authentication protocols

  • Secure hosting infrastructure

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Shopify Data Handling

5.1 Data Access Scope

StockGuard requests only the minimum Shopify permissions necessary:

  • read_inventory — to monitor stock levels

  • read_products — to display product information

We do not request access to:

  • Customer data or personal information

  • Payment or financial data

  • Order fulfillment data (beyond inventory impact)

  • Store analytics or reports

5.2 Data Synchronization

  • Inventory data is checked periodically (frequency depends on your subscription plan)

  • We maintain a cache of inventory status to enable quick dashboard loading

  • Historical inventory data is retained for 30 days for trend analysis

  • You can trigger manual inventory refreshes at any time

5.3 Disconnecting Your Store

When you disconnect your Shopify store:

  • Your OAuth access token is immediately invalidated and deleted

  • Inventory monitoring stops immediately

  • Historical inventory data is deleted within 30 days

  • Your account settings and preferences are removed

6. Push Notifications

6.1 How Push Notifications Work

StockGuard uses Apple Push Notification service (APNs) via Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver alerts. When you enable notifications:

  • Your device generates a unique token

  • This token is sent to our servers

  • We use this token to send alerts about your inventory

  • You can manage each store's settings individually

  • Summary views aggregate data only for your convenience

11. Children's Privacy

StockGuard is a business application not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately at support@stockguard.app.

12. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States. These countries may have different data protection laws.

We ensure that any transfers comply with applicable data protection laws through:
